During the Spring in Oregon the rain starts falling and the leaves turn green. When it rains it is one of the best times for photographers to hike locations that are normally crowded. Silver Falls State Park is a frequently visited location and for good reason. The park consists of 10 different waterfalls and 4 you walk under. Oregon’s largest state park (9,000 acres) all the trails are absolutely stunning. The trail of ten falls loop is about nine miles and a fairly easy hike.

The Pacific Northwest this year was pounded with snow. Mt Bachelor a lone received 478 inches since October 1st. It was a great year to be in Bend and a landscape photographer. Both Nate and I made several trips all over the Pacific Northwest in chase of winter landscapes. A few highlights of mine were skiing Mt Bachelor, driving to the Bend airport and shooting aerial photos with Nate all in the same day. The winter can turn any river, mountain, waterfall, and stream into a surreal experience.

A 15 minute right to the airport and you can be flying of the Three Sisters within 30 minutes.
