Mckenzie River Winter Central Oregon

The Pacific Northwest this year was pounded with snow. Mt Bachelor a lone received 478 inches since October 1st. It was a great year to be in Bend and a landscape photographer. Both Nate and I made several trips all over the Pacific Northwest in chase of winter landscapes. A few highlights of mine were skiing Mt Bachelor, driving to the Bend airport and shooting aerial photos with Nate all in the same day. The winter can turn any river, mountain, waterfall, and stream into a surreal experience.

First Snow in Bend, Oregon 2015

Frozen Waterfall Bend Oregon

The first significant snowfall of the season fell in the mountains of Central Oregon. Early Sunday morning I headed up the Cascade Lakes Highway with a few other local photographers to find the snow. In Bend snow usually starts falling in November, but can be as early as mid October.
